Is it possible to "delete messages from server when downloaded" in the
tools or account settings of an email client (thunderbird, outlook,
etc)?? Just curious.

I was suggesting that you can go to account settings in Thunderbird and uncheck the box that says "leave message on server." Believe this might at least eliminate the message from the server - if that is an issue. This is in the server menu. Have to try it myself to be sure.
