Eugene, have you tried Thunderbird's built-in IMAP support for Google
mail? It works great and keeps your Google mail in sync, real-time!!
I deleted my old POP gmail accounts from TB and added them back in with
IMAP using the TB Account Wizard in TB 3.xxx
There seems to be more support for Gmail built-in to TB than for any
other source of email, from my experience.
