I certainly appreciate the efforts the author is making now - and
those that he always has made in the past.  The support for the
extension is top-notch!

I was offering my experience just to aid debugging (and to contrast
with Pier Carlo's observation that he still had the same problem even
with the new version).

I don't use the extension for SMTP - only POP.
