Souly, *For me I found a solution to problem. I moved all my Webmail Gmail inbox contents to a local folder (all 392 emails). I deleted the Webmail Gmail account and created a new one. Somehow the local databases apparently got corrupted. I then downloaded the server inbox emails (all 73 of them). I have not had a single re-occurrence of the download of old messages on the server's inbox in the last 36 hrs.
Everything I did otherwise didn't fix the problem. It just keep downloading randomly old emails even though they already existed in the Inbox. The problem was fairly constant so I was to some trial and error troubleshooting. The recent problems created by Gmail may have cause the problem. I don't know for sure but at least this fix my problem. Depending on the size your server's inbox and your connection speed this maybe worth trying. Eugene*
