It seems to me that at present if you follow the upgrade link, you just
get a trial view of the new Yahoo mail. Leastways, for my two Yahoo
accounts this is what happens, nothing has changed permanently, the next
time I log in I get the old "New" Yahoo mail pages. Any change to the
way Yahoo codes the web mail pages can break the extension, even ones
that don't change the appearance, so yes, it is very likely that the
current version of the extension will stop working when this upgrade is
rolled out for real. The Webmail Author will only be able to start
working on the new versions when he has an upgraded Yahoo account to
work with, this will depend on when Yahoo decide to upgrade his
account(s). Beta versions of the new extension are likely to be
available shortly after this.

I got this notice as well and am paranoid to upgrade until we get the
"All Clear" from the WebMail extension authors.
Any word on:
a) whether this upgrade will break WebMail for Yahoo 1.4.7 (I'm
assuming YES), and
b) if an upgrade is necessary, what the approximate time frame
would be?

Got this on another account a few days ago -- maybe we'll be needing
another new extension in the near future?
