It wouldn't be anything to do with this story
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14851455 would it? If so, normal
service should by now have been restored.

I've set up the addon and hotmail extension with SMTP and POP both
using port 25 (on win XP). I also tried other ports for POP. I'm using
3 email accounts, one hotmail, one gmail and one private server. They
all send mail fine, and hotmail is the only one that can't receive
mail.
The hotmail password seems to be working fine (since I can send mail)
and there are no error messages when I try to get mail. But of course
I don't get any new messages downloaded to my inbox!
I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. I've checked the server settings
and SMTP settings and they both use localhost port 25 with my username
as my email address.
I wondered if password encryption settings make a difference? At the
moment I have "Connection security: SSL/TLS" and "Authentication
method: Normal password".
p.s. I can receive mails using pop3.live.com but then it does not
download Junk mail or retrieve the x-folder header.
