Using EWS requires *lots* of work; and Thunderbird can already access
natively Exchange via IMAP or POP3 if your admin has enabled access...

I don't think it's worth the time. Exchange (and Lotus Notes behaves
much the same way) provide more than email; as such, using non-native
clients will get you nowhere...

Just my opinion, anyway.
