I was having the same problem. I went to the yahoo mail web page and logged in there. It pestered me about adding an alternate email address to send notifications if I get locked out of my yahoo account. I did that, then got into web mail, then logged out. Tbird still didn't work. So back to the yahoo mail web login... It then pestered me about adding mobile phone numbers. I don't want to give this info so I just said "remind me later". Anyway, Tbird works now. Thanks Yahoo, that was very annoying...
