Comment:

 No that's okay, you were perfectly clear.  The fact is that CakePHP does
 not support SET or ENUM in any way, shape, or form.  As far as Cake is
 concerned, they simply do not exist.  A cursory search of Trac or the
 mailing list will reveal a long history of this stance and the reasons for
 it.
