Comment:

 I don't think query was ever intended to be used to insert records.  As
 such it returns arrays of resultSets, for which an insert has none.  The
 documentation in the API states that query() is intended for performing
 custom SQL queries that return results.  Perhaps DboSource::insertMulti()
 would fit your needs better.
