Not to be spiteful but if its meaningless why would it be an issue?
Furthermore, the reason it works like this is because not all cache
engines are able to store the cache expiry time, so you would also need to
specify the duration when reading.

Furthermore your use is incorrect. You would need to use Cache::set() to
change the settings temporarily. If that is too much work you can create
alternate Cache::configs with different durations in your core.php. Much
like how default is defined. So if one extra method call is ''''too much
trouble'''' then I'm sorry, but tough luck.
