-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
    Reporter: dmitry | Type: Bug
      Status: new | Priority: High
   Milestone: 1.2.x.x | Component: Cache
     Version: RC3 | Severity: Normal
    Keywords: memcache,unix | Php_version: n/a
Cake_version: 1.2.0.7692 RC3 |
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
Current implementation of the memcached cache does not support connections
through Unix sockets. According to PHP documentation if host parameter
starts from "unix://" and port is 0, than host is a path to the Unix
socket through which the connection should be made. Current implementation
 does not take into account.

The attached patch fixes the problem.
