Comment:

 Bugs in CakePHP do not cause segmentation faults. However, bugs in
 Apache/PHP do. I suggest you upgrade to the latest version of PHP if
 possible and try again. Also, try the same example you have provided above
 on a different server and let me know if you get the same result. :-)
