#5896: Failed DB Connection treated as a 'missingTable' instead of
'missingConnection'
-------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
Reporter: cbrinker | Type: Enhancement
Status: new | Priority: Low
Milestone: 1.2.x.x | Component: Model
Version: RC3 | Severity: Trivial

While I was trying to debug a database configuration issue, was getting
back a not so useful (but ultimately correct) error of 'missingTable' for
a supplied Controller::uses Model.
I was able to get the more meaningful cakeError of 'missingConnection' by
adding another simple check to the existing Model::setDataSource()
function:
Added a check for isConnected to the if catch near the end
{{{
if (empty($db) || $db == null || !is_object($db)) {
}}}
To this
{{{
if (empty($db) || $db == null || !is_object($db) || !$db->isConnected()) {
}}}
