The delete method from Folder class does use is_file() to know if unlink()
is to be used.

foreach ($files as $file) {
//...
if (is_file($file) === true) {
if (@unlink($file)) {
}}}
However links are to be deleted with unlink too, this trivia does the
trick:

foreach ($files as $file) {
//...
if (is_file($file) === true || is_link($file) === true) {
if (@unlink($file)) {
}}}
