mark, like i mentioned in the code bit, i'm sure we can come up with a way
to decode the json without using the function (thus the conditional if it
exists). it's just too important (more important that auto-parsing XML,
imho) to not have in the core, because not many people will think to hit
php://input, and there's *no* documentation to point someone in the right
way, unless someone happens to be a geek and look at the startup method of
RequestHandler. :)
