#6235: Variables set by AppController not available in email layout or views

Set layout variables such as
$this->set('test','test');
in the AppController. The variable is available in normal views and
layouts (upon $this->render) but is not available for views or layouts in
the 'Email' component. Variables set in the child controller (id
MailController) are available.
