#6323: javascript->codeBlock($code, array('inline'=>false)) called from an element in a layout doesn't work --------------------------------------------+------------------------------- Reporter: bmilesp | Owner: Type: Bug | Status: closed Priority: Medium | Milestone: 1.2.x.x Component: General | Version: 1.2 Final Severity: Normal | Resolution: invalid Keywords: layout element renderLayout | Php_version: PHP 5 Cake_version: 1.2.0.7962 | --------------------------------------------+------------------------------- Changes (by mark_story):
* status: new => closed * resolution: => invalid Comment: scripts_for_layout is generated _before_ the layout is rendered. Therefore it cannot contain scripts from elements that are included in the layout as that would require bending of space time. As templates are just plain PHP, and are parsed by the PHP interpreter only. [[BR]][[BR]] There are alternative solutions for this in the works, but at this time rebuilding space time is a too large of a task. :) -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.cakephp.org/ticket/6323#comment:1> CakePHP : The Rapid Development Framework for PHP <https://trac.cakephp.org/> Cake is a rapid development framework for PHP which uses commonly known design patterns like ActiveRecord, Association Data Mapping, Front Controller and MVC.
