#6460: Create method String::isUUID()
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
Reporter: mhuggins | Type: Enhancement
Status: new | Priority: Low
Milestone: 1.2.x.x | Component: Core Libs
Version: 1.2 Final | Severity: Trivial
Keywords: string core uuid | Php_version: PHP 5
Cake_version: 1.2.2.8120 |
---------------------------------+------------------------------------------
The string class currently has a way to create uuid values. However,
there is no way to test if a value is in a UUID format. It would be great
if this simple function were added to the String class.
{{{
function isUUID($str) {
return (bool)
preg_match('/^[a-f0-9]{8}-[a-f0-9]{4}-[a-f0-9]{4}-[a-f0-9]{4}-[a-f0-9]{12}$/i',
$str);
}
}}}
