I'm sorry, I made a mistake in my original report. The courses table "has
many" sections, not the other way around.
I've traced the problem back to line 361 of cake/libs/view/helper.php,
which reads:

if (!$view->association && $parts[0] == $view->field && $view->field !=
$view->model) {
array_unshift($parts, $model);
$hasField = true;
}
}}}
When my problem occurs, $view->association is empty, $parts[0] ==
'Sections', $view->field == 'Sections', and $view->model == 'Course'.
My hunch is that $view->field should be "section" and not "Section", but I
could be wrong. Need to investigate further.
