changeset 8195 does seem to help. i was seeing the problem on a page that
fires off 4 simultaneous ajax requests so it seemed like a race condition
of some sort. i had enabled file locking for the cache module with no
effect. so now i'm running with the 8195 change and turned off locking
and so far no more errors.
