#772: initng fails to run runlevel/default, debian/etch/powerpc compiled from source ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: mwsealey | Owner: Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Problems with Debian | Version: initng-0.6.8 Severity: normal | Keywords: ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Running on a Genesi Efika, MPC5200B PowerPC processor using Debian Etch.
I downloaded the latest source (0.6.10.1) and ifiles and compiled them using dpkg-buildpackage (with -d for ifiles as it depended on initng-dev, but didn't seem to need it). Then, I get this: ~~~~~~~~~ [ 34.342198] Freeing unused kernel memory: 152k init Next Generation Init version ( 0.6.10-svn Bleeding Edge ) http://www.initng.org Author: Jimmy Wennlund <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> If you find initng useful, please consider a small donation. System is starting up! ** "/root/src/initng-0.6.10/src/main.c", main() line:525: 07:44:59 -- FAIL: Failed to load runlevel (runlevel/default)! This is a sulogin offer, you will be able to login for 2 times (now 0), and on return initng will try continue where it was, if the times go out, initng will launch /sbin/initng-segfault on next su_login request. ~~~~~~~~~ If I change the filename in /etc/initng/runlevel/default.runlevel to /etc/initng/runlevel/default it complains that the file is not executable, then does the same error. I don't understand why this is happening, is it just a strange quirk of a patch I missed/misapplied? -- Ticket URL: </ticket/772> Initng <> The next generation init system _______________________________________________ Tickets mailing list Tickets@jw.dyndns.org http://jw.dyndns.org/mailman/listinfo/tickets
