The routing modifier only works if the context is mapped to variable
{{{$ctx}}} through assigns, right? That probably needs cleaning up.
Also, could you explain what the filter chain class is for and why it is
needed? Shouldn't PHPTAL have the filter chain bundled in their
distribution? They even explain it in the manual
(http://phptal.org/manual/en/#filter-interface), so I think it would be a
good idea to propose it to them - they're currently in the alpha release
cycle for version 1.2, so it might be a good opportunity.
