 Also, I'm not sure why you're doing this manual coding stuff... why aren't
 you using predefined formats via {{{translation.xml}}}, such as "medium",
 similar to what you're doing in the parsing phase? There's also a
 validator that can do the parsing for you, and outputting is a matter of
 calling {{{$tm->_d()}}} with the desired domain that has the format
 defined.
