You can delete your own postings using the GoogleGroups web
interface.  Press the "more options" link in the header of the message
and then click the 'remove' command link. You will be asked to
confirm, and then the message will be permanently removed from the
group postings.

Also, as one of the group managers, I can remove any message that is
way off-topic or inappropriate... though I've only done that once in
over three years managing this group, and I prefer to let things sort
themselves out through reasonable discourse and exchange of views.

Also, as you are aware, all messages from new group members are
moderated.  This is done only to filter out the daily flow of postings
from spammers (Indian porn and fake Nikes from China seem to be
popular recently), and once a message has been determined to be from a
legitimate, non-spammer source, the member is no longer moderated.  Of
course, while *I* see all these spam messages in the moderation queue,
the rest of the group never sees any of those postings, and perhaps
this has made me hyper-vigilant and a bit sensitive regarding the kind
of links that *do* get posted on the group.
