When you install TiddlersBar it inserts StyleSheetTiddlersBar as a shadow tiddler. This is where you change the .tabSelected and .tabUnselected for the bars tabs.
The same thing is in StyleSheetColors for the normal tabs. Do not change StyleSheetColors but find the right code in it then copy it to StyleSheet and change the colors there.
