I created a TiddlyWiki that includes a tabbed interface with families and locations. Then each of the individual family tiddlers would be indexes for information on that family with links to the actual images of the source documents. The tabbed list of tiddlers is on the left and I want to update this so that I can hide the controls on the right to make more room. I also want to change my links to the images so that they open with a tiddler instead of in another browser tab. I believe I have that working, but I don't think this is the most efficient. I should use some macros (but that is pushing beyond my capabilities).
I also want to develop a note-taking TiddlerWiki that allows the tags to be used to organize the Tiddler access by family or date. Basically the idea is to allow a convienient way to organize all the thoughts and ideas that are being gathered for doing genealogy research and planning how best to plan research projects for several different families or locations. So these are not difficult tasks for those who are comfortable with TiddlerWikis, but I have been struggling to bring it all together. Basically, one of my goals is to provide a way to organize the documents and images on a thumb drive so that they can be easily accessed, references modified, sorted and organized. But I also want this to be simple enough that less technical people could adapt and use the system. I hope you can get the general idea without assuming that my ideas are cast in concrete. I would welcome other ideas for ways to pursue this goal that might differ a somewhat from what I have outlined while achieving the same goal.
