Hi Russell! Where I currently work, I can install my own software on my work laptop. Among other things, I installed JSPWiki. During the last four years, I accumulated the above mentioned 4200 pages (17 MB Text) plus 700 attached files ( 618 MB). JSPWiki takes a while to start up, but peforms nicely after that, including searches and such, b.c. the server software does some preprocessing, caching etc. Where I will work in the future, I will very probably not be able to install software of my own. However, a running a TiddlyWiki in a Browser should work.
After having read http://www.tiddlywiki.org/wiki/Performance_Issues I realize that several MB are already a lot for TiddlyWiki and converting my current content would result in a huge unusable thing. Managing a lot of content efficiently probably really takes some server software that can do preprocessing and caching and ideally includes a full fledged database. Right now I think I will have to leave my current content on my private machine at home. At work I'll start with a blank TiddlyWiki and hope I'll get by with it for a while, before it grows to large.
