I supposed it's implied by describing the paths. Sorry for this.
1 & 2 - default modes.
1a & 2a - user actions.

And that's the reason of my question.

So, the question was/is:
"Topic" or "Topics"; singular versus plural?

While the 1 & 1a are thoroughly understood (Like Father, Like Son) ,
the 2 & 2a are showing some discrepancy.

In hope that now my doubtfulness is more obvious.
