By default, when you save a TiddlyWiki document, a backup file is
first created by adding a 'date/time stamp' to the existing filename.
For example: "index.html" becomes "index.20090410.1508170716.html".
Then, a new "index.html" is written to save your tiddler changes. If
you don't want backup files to be created, you can clear the "save
backups" checkbox in the sidebar options.
