> I can open the TiddlyWiki and then everthing comes up but I can't type > anything in, my keyboard is dead, what gives?
Although you didn't say so, I assume that you tried to edit a tiddler and when you started to type into the editor's textarea, nothing happened. If so, then this explanation may help: By default, TiddlyWiki's built-in editing/saving functions only work with locally-stored files (viewed via file:// protocol) and remotely- stored files (viewed via http:// protocol) are opened in "read only" mode. In this case, the usual "edit" toolbar command is re-labeled "view", and the resulting tiddler source 'editor' becomes a simple source 'viewer' that displays the same data but does not permit you to actually change it. However, because the presentation looks nearly the same, it's easy to overlook that you are in "read only" mode until you actually try to type, giving the *illusion* that the entire keyboard has suddenly gone "dead". Of course, it is still possible that something really *is* causing your keyboard input to be ignored. Fortunately, there are some very simple tests you can do to see if your keyboard is, in fact, still working from within your TiddlyWiki document: * click in the "search" input field (in the sidebar) and try to type something * press the tab key and see if the focus (dotted box or flashing cursor) moves to another place on the page * click on the page background and then press page-down/page-up and see if the page scrolls (assuming there are active scrollbars showing, of course). hope this helps. enjoy, -e Eric Shulman TiddlyTools / ELS Design Studios --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
