I think if you type "hesitat" into the search box, you'll get all forms, even with the stock TW.
TW Notes has the ability to do regular expressions. I believe this ability is coming from Eric Shulman's (tiddlytools.com) SearchOptionsPlugin, though I couldn't find a direct mention of regular expressions in the documentation. With a regular expression, you could type hesitat(e|ion|ing) and you'd get the 3 basic conjugations of hesitate.
