Hi guys,
so here is my problem: I'm using tiddlywiki (actually mptw) to make a
little encyclopaedia for all the stuff i want to keep in mind for my
studies. As I'm studying islamic studies that includes a lot of arabic
terms. Some of them are used with the personal article like "القران" |
"al-qurān" or "the Koran". as tiddlers I MUST use arabic names. If i
type those terms with the article they will be sorted alphabetically
under -ال | al- and not where the should be, which is ...ق | q... .

It is like with bands which all start, 'the hives' or whatever only
that you don't want to find them under 'the' but under 'hives'
although they are still written 'the hives'.

Now you could say that I should just ommit the article and write قران
and my life would be more simple :-) but than there are those terms
like العبّاسيّون which is arabic for the Abbasids. They are called al-
ʿabbāsīyūn and not just ʿabbāsīyūn and if I write a text in arabic I
want to use the correct name as with some terms nobody would
understand the word without the article.

So the question is, is there anyway to tell tiddly to ignore certain
letters (in my case ال) for all listings?
