You do not need to change the macro, you simply change the path in the
tiddler making the macro call, which in your case is HoverMenu.
So, instead of:
icon new.bmp 16 16
you would use:
icon img/new.bmp 16 16
or even:
icon http://somephotosharingservice.com/myimg.png 16 16
