You may want to look at http://www.math.ist.utl.pt/~psoares/addons.html and the SlideShowPlugin. It provides a number of other functions including the ability to jump to a 'slide', screen blanking optional mouse and keyboard navigation, headers footers etc. I still have a few things I would like to see, but overlal it works well.
