Hi All, First 'newbie' post so be kind eh :) I am seeking to gain the opinions and benefit of the older or more experience user on the subject for the principal reason:
SHORT Version..........for those with only 5mins or less :) I want to ultimately build my understanding of 'programming' with tools like those mentioned in the subject line, Creation and creativity is the fun part that drives me. So then I will be able to develop applications to use in my work environment to improve my efficiency and expand my overall professional skill set. LONG Version .......... for those with a biiiiiit more free time who will indulge :) thx I possibly like many others have always wanted to do some sort of 'programming' like C++ but for a variety of reason could not get it all to 'gel' Most likely overwhelmed by all the syntax at first glance, after that i couldn't see the woods for the trees. Then not long ago I was introduce to the wonders of TW (TiddlyWiki) and what do you know in a week or so I could actually create a page that did something, meaningful, useful for me. So as I bumbled along with the usual first frustrations of why can't not I even save my first file to now I can actually make something I want, the way I want it. More experienced, long time user may well chuckle but hey that's cool each to their own. So basically, I want to be able to develop possible web based application using, I perceive most likely HTML and Java. As i want to create multi-functional applications which are an aid to Engineers in Aerospace design.....I am actually one of these guys :) I realise there may well be applications out there already that do this (although I suspect moreso commercially) but this exercise is to gain knowledge and enhance my own deeper understanding through the actually doing. Which is also the part where i have the most fun creating something new, well for me anyway, that's where i get a buzz, i am sure you can relate :) So this is where your opinions/guidance and give me some food for thought on which one (i would expect both have the strenghs and weaknesses) so imagine it would be a combination of the two. I know there are probably heaps of FAQs and the like around and I will go looking for them as well but thought to get the ball rolling would at least make my first post. Many thanks in advance and I welcome all your comments/opinions. Best reagards and thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings :) Dave. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
