I remember some discussion, but no specific resolution.  In any case,
I've just added support for using an alternative field value as a
template prefix.  Get the update (v1.6.0) here:
   http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#TaggedTemplateTweak
   http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#TaggedTemplateTweakInfo

Note: by default, the plugin looks for a field named 'template'.  To
use a TiddlyWeb bag value instead, simply put the following setting
into a 'systemConfig'-tagged tiddler (e.g., TaggedTemplateTweakConfig)

config.options.txtTemplateTweakFieldname='server.bag';
