Several approaches:

* Instead of opening a given "web TW", right-click on the link to that
document and use "save link as..." from the Firefox popup menu. This
will download an exact copy of the hosted document. Then, simply open
the *local* copy from your filesystem and start editing.

* some hosted TWs include a 'download' link so you can right-click to
save a copy after viewing the document online.

* documents hosted on tiddlyspot.com can be downloaded by appending "/
download" to the URL. Thus, to grab a copy of my personal
'tiddlyblog', you could *left* click on this link:
   http://lumpymilk.tiddlyspot.com/download

* TiddlyTools.com "QuickStart" documents ('pre-installed' with various
configurations of plugins, scripts, templates, stylesheets, etc.) can
be downloaded by *left* clicking on the download link that is included
with each description:
   http://www.TiddlyTools.com/quickstart/
