Interesting. As soon as I added <div class='editor' macro='edit tags'></div> to it it worked fine. But that doesn't explain why it is doing it. It's like the system feels it needs to write the tag somewhere visible, and can only put it in the visible edit title field. This same limitation is not carried over to custom fields as I added one, and it didn't show in the title.
