I am working on a TiddlyWiki Tutorial as part of several university course projects. I will provide some unique content as well as the structure and behavior of the adaptation. But what I would like to do that is different than anything I have yet to find in the TiddlyWiki community is integrate tiddler content from others' TiddlyWikis; a mashup of sorts, using http://www.tiddlytools.com/#ExternalTiddlersPlugin and/or other appropriate macros and plugins as needed. Details about the tiddler UI are in this post: http://groups.google.com/group/tiddlywikidev/t/c1ea377333deda3c?hl=en. >From an information architecture perspective, what I am doing is chunking the information for content management and resequencing for specific audiences. This is an exercise in instructional media, information architecture, content management, research, communication studios, and I don't even know what all else.
A single tiddler might reference a portion of another single tiddler, an entire single tiddler, or bits and pieces of multiple tiddlers from multiple TiddlyWikis from multiple authors. My goal is to provide a "flow" of instruction on the topic as well as plenty of "See Also"'s and other cross-references. Based on this pattern, anywhere in any tiddler that content (not just a reference) comes from someone other than me there will be: * the author identified * a link to the author * the name of the source document or specific tiddler, e.g. TiddlyWikis, blog posts * a link to the source document * whatever I've overlooked One subliminal point I am trying to make through this exercise is for my TiddlyWiki to behaviorly reflect the nature of the TiddlyWiki community that I have come to enjoy and respect. Piecing together from many sources reflects the spirit of cooperation that is readily evident in this Google Group as well as all the other TiddlyWiki Google Groups. In fact, some content might even comes from these forum posts, e.g. tricky question answers, plans for future development. Because I am an equal opportunity leech, there will be content I would like to sequence together from authors including BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Jeremy Ruston, Eric Shulman, David Gifford, Martin Budden, Michael Mahemoff, Simon Baird, Fred Dohr, Jonathan Lister, Paul Downey, Phil Hawksworth, Simon McManus, Udo Borkowski, Saq Imtiaz, etc., etc., etc. 1. May I proceed with leeching? 2. Is there a single citation scheme I can use to encompass everyone's contributions or do I need a format that is author-specific? If author- specific, I will have to contact each individual author and receive their permission and specifications. 3. Would anyone like to suggest content to be incorporated, e.g. "how- to"? In addition to TiddlyWikis and blogs, I plan to link to SlideShare presentations, YouTube videos, and other rich media content. From the instructional media perspective, I want to incorporate as much useful variety as appropriate. At the completion of the project and my courses I will post the final TiddlyWiki for public consumption wherever appropriate. If it achieves my goal of clear and useful instruction I would be thrilled to see it continue to evolve at the hands of many contributors. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
