When you use 'save changes', TW first converts the existing file into
a backup file by *renaming* it to add a date/time stamp into the
filename.  Then, it creates a completely new file without the date/
time stamp, containing the updated tiddlers.  This two-step process
ensures that, if an error occurs while writing the new file, the
previous file content is absolutely safe and can be recovered by
renaming the backup file to remove the timestamp.
