I have found that applications can be run from your TiddlyWiki resident on dropbox. However this was accessing the file from the local disk. That is to say the TiddlyWiki was moved to dropbox with no changes and the launching of the local applications worked fine even by clicking on the data file from a spredsheet application such as OpenOffice *.ods that is resident on the local disk. However dragging the data file itself to dropbox doesn't work because it doesn't show up there. I assume that dropbox only works with HTML files. Dropbox does have some peculiarities with TiddlyWiki. For instance I have found certain macros do not appear in a TiddlyWiki on dropbox such as saveChanges, newTiddler and newJournal, most likely for obvious reasons but I'm not sure how dropbox knows this. There are people on this list who may be more familiar with dropbox than I am and they may be able to add to this.
