Thank you for the responses! Every time I tried to import a plugin, whether in the backstage area or through the ImportTiddlers tiddler, I get a message reading "Error getting list of tiddlers, click Cancel to try again". That's why I thought maybe I needed to adjust settings.
As long as I can still import them manually I guess all is well, but I'm still curious about why I can't do it from backstage.
