I use Saq's Plugin in v.2.0.1.
Usage:
* To create a footnote, just put the footnote text inside triple
backticks.
* Footnotes are numbered automatically, and listed at the bottom
of the tiddler.
* Creating a footnote is easy. ```This is the text for my
footnote```
