Jacques As I remember the hover feature was basically to provide a popup menu. You could then use the default to specify your own buttons. So I think the feature you were talking about was jump, jump to the tiddler.
In TW5 have a look at the sidebar Open tab, click on an open tiddler and surely you already get the behaviour you are looking for ? If not you may need to give a better explanation. If this is similar then we can look at a on hover access method.
