Not really the same thing, but I have been using an interface similar to the 
OSX application Notational Velocity for my notes in Tiddlywiki for the last 
couple of years.

Essentially you start with a list of tiddlers and type to refine and narrow 
down the list to find what you need, and it's combined with an editing 
interface.

If there's any interest I'll find the time to clean it up and share.

The user interface is identical, either presented inside a tiddler, or 
alternatively I also have it setup as a modal that I can bring up with a 
keyboard shortcut.
