I'm not sure how the local storage plugin got into the conversation. I think the original question was just about local file saving.
Jeremy has warned us that the local storage plugin is unreliable. Actually, I'm not sure when you would ever use it. Maybe for brief stints when your cloud storage (e.g. github) is down?
