Ed,

The key here is its the "default tiddlers" setting. [list[$:/StoryList]] 
list says open the tiddlers named in the list field of the system tiddler 
$:/StoryList which is updated when you open and close tiddlers. 

Personally I use `Home [list[$:/StoryList]]` so my Home tiddler also open 
on reload whether it were open or not when I left the wiki.
