GG is better than reddit. The threaded approach of reddit puts you deep 
into a claustrophobic box. On reddit people have conversations that they 
forget about, and then move on. On GG you can find conversations and topics 
from half a decade ago.

What people seem to not like about GG is that it is not curated in any way. 
That will probably be a problem with any forum, unless there are volunteers 
to save the good stuff somewhere.

I just recently migrated a group to groups.io. Technically, they're pretty 
good. But it may take actual money to make the transfer, if you want lots 
of archive space (I had to pony up for the first year).
