You are right, that would be nice.
Wikis will grow over the years and get slower. Solutions to that problem is 
often discussed and tested. It seems complicated to me and often demands 
serious changes to an often large wiki.

Bob has helped me a lot, and that is only one of the things BobExe can do 
and it continues to get better and better.

The discussion about how to optimise performance is better thought of as 
advice on *how to construct our new wikis* to get a good start, I think.
*Hardware:* Short time ago I got a *new* laptop. My old one was 32 bit with 
only 2 gb ram, the new one 64 bit 8 gb ram. Totally new life to my old big 
wiki ;-)
I do not own a smartphone or a tablet but wonder, how to run a big wiki on 
those?
